It is disappointing that you have looked for inspiration for new builds from China rather than London. The video is depressing to say the least - compare and contrast with a walk through Convent Garden. What this site needs are well defined streets, a variety of land uses, residential buildings of say 4 or 5 storey max. - the Victorians called them mansion blocks and the same principals could still apply. Who really wants to live 20 storeys up in a small flat and the only thing on the ground floor is a supermarket + loud bar + a 15 minute walk to the train station.
