How important are community spaces when designing a neighbourhood?
How can we design communal facilities for homes where people get to know their neighbours?
• Communal gardens
• Interactive notice boards
What community facilities do you think would create a sense of community?
• A cafe
• A (wellness) studio for yoga/pilates
• Seating in the public realm
How can we support people to take ownership of shared spaces in S1 and S11 so they feel they belong there?
• Volunteer programme
• Activity programme
• Resident committee
Add your like! More reaction types are coming soon.
• Lobbies/foyers with seating
• A flexible community space for events
• A playground
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
S1 and S11 are not really standalone buildings. They need to be blended in with the wider IQL and the more mature GHG. There are really 2 residential wings in the development. Both wings need to be connected, and importantly, feel connected. (At least some) facilities and design elements should be shared.
• A workspace studio
• Community art
